The sail plane Test Event archived with stefano Ghiorzo’s success
The seven days of competition for the Sailplane Test Event competition held in view of the World Air games to be held in Turin next year concluded with the utmost satisfaction of the organizers and participants. The gliders were measured 4 on different routes, about 200 km each, assigned by the judge of the day, according to weather conditions and the possibility of carrying out the task. The absolute winner was Stefano Ghiorzo, having won every 4 tasks of the contest. On the first day (Casellette - Venaus - Casellette - LakeAlice - Casellette - Torino arrival point) Ghiorzo preceded Grinza, Tarchini and New Zealander Dane Dickinson. Also Pavesi, Della Rosa and Cernezzi made the classifications. On the second day (Ferriera - Barge - Trausella - Ferriera - Torino arrival point) again it was Ghiorzo who came first and without any penalties along the 200.8 km route followed by Grinza, Tarchini, Dickinson, Della Rosa, Pavesi and Cernezzi. On the 3rd day with the route programmed in the following order, Viu - Caretto - Col du Lys, Revello, Vaie, Torino arrival point, Ghiorzo has overtook during the 205.1 km flight, Grinza, Pavesi, Tarchini, Dickinson, Della Rosa and Cernezzi. The Final day of competition, again with towed departure from Collegno "Torino Aeritalia", has seen Ghiuorzo seize, as he said, poker, on his glider Ventus 2 A. The last task provided a departure from Ferriera, so the transition from Luserna S.Giovanni, Start 0, Andrate, Casellette, Turin arrival point. In second place Grinza, Dickinson third, fourth Pavesi, then Tarchini, Della Rosa and Cernezzi.
The general classification has therefore seen the first three places respectively Ghiorzo, Grinza on ASW 27 B, and Dickinson, at the LS 8.
"Even in this circumstance - emphasized Giorgio Milanesi, General Director WAG 2009 - Test Event results are useful to understand what can be fixed in view of next years appointment. The technologies used on board for data transmission to ground are extremely useful . It will be all aspects the competitions to be a spectacular event for the World Air Games in 2009. Now all eyes will be focused on, the hot-air ballooning Test Event at Mondovì. The Italian Open championship from July 8 to July 13. Aannouncing a presence of, high technical and quality levels".
FAI Selection Contest to World Air Games Torino June 7-8, 2008
As forecasted among the general contest of events connected to the World Air Games 2009 program, anticipated by Tests Events for the each of 10 Aeronautics Disciplines, has been held the Aeromodelling 2008 Selection Contest and Test Event for the three specialties included by the Federation Aeronautics Internationel during the Olympic Air Games 2009 namely: Artistic Aerobatics (F6A), AeroMusicals (F6B) and Hand Thrown Gliders (F6D).
Against unfavorable weather conditions and a very taught Calendar of competitions organized in various European and non-European Countries, despite the limited number but at the highest level of Competitors, the three competitions has been organized in a very complex and articulated program during the two days June 7-8, 2008 with a full satisfaction and success for All FAI Observers, WAG 2009 Committee Authorities and Competitors, specifically by those who came from abroad and farer Countries.
An event successfully completed thanks to All Working Personnel and to the specific Organiser, AexA Fiat Aeromodelling Team, completed by an interesting flight demonstration in indoor by Helihoop and Zeppeling Teams of Airship Models Radio Controlled to anticipate what will be more largely seen during the games 2009 .

Spectacular images at the 1st block of test events
Saturday and Sunday June 7 and 8 will see an encore with aeromodelling
Monday June 2 at the Airport Collegno Torino - Aeritalia saw the the first block of Test Events for the World Air Games Torino 2009.
The Italian title helicopters went to tandem team Falcone-Bello.
The Trophy Reggiani for motor acrobatics went to Marco Bosoni, the Duranti acrobatic flight trophy for Freestyle went to Pietro Filippini.
A French Success for freestyle parachuting, for the Saumur Pais de La Loyre team. In Formation Skydiving first place was awarded to the cremonese dell'Evolution Team. Another first for the French in Canopy formation, with the Value Contact, ahead of the two bellunesi teams.
An excellent balance of display for the technical tests carried out during the Test Event and an enormous response from the public.
Next Saturday and Sunday is to be repeated, with the TEST Event for aeromodelling also to be held at Collegno airport of Turin - Aeritalia (outdoor) and the Palaruffini (indoor Aeromusicals).
