Precision Landing
Pricision landing involves landing as close as possible to the target (a sensor-equipped disk of only 2 cm in diameter). The competition has two phases - 8 jumps for all athletes and a final round where only the “top 10” participate. Points are added for the number of centimetres away from the disk and for faulty landings. The winner is the athlete from the top 10 with the lowest cumulative score at the end of the competition.
Canopy Formation
Canopy formation formation will be contested in 15 rounds of 4-Way Rotations (successive 4-way plane/stack formations made in rotation). Each team of 4 athletes plus video cameraman launches simultaneously at a height of 2100 metres (7000 ft), and immediately deploys chutes. They must then manoeuvre through the required sequence of formation changes within the allowed time and the minimum manoeuvre height of 750 meters (2600 ft). The winning team is that with the best total score after discarding their lowest score in any round.

Canopy Piloting
This highly spectacular speciality requires each athlete to make 3 launches, each with a different scope – Distance, Accuracy and Speed. It requires a rapid descent rate to reach a very high speed before racing across a body of water while negotiating a series of gates. In the Distance jump, the competitor navigates his parachute through the course for the longest distance possible. In the Accuracy jump, the competitor navigates his parachute through the course collecting points for contacting the surface of the water and for a precision landing. In the Speed jump, the competitor navigates his parachute through the course as fast as possible. The winner is the athlete with the best cumulative score from all three jumps.
