About me and Wag2009.com

About Wag2009:  The story isn’t that great, but bear with me! So why did I choose to name my blog Wag2009? Well…My nickname is Wag for starters. It has been since I was very young. It is a very long story… anyway I chose the 2009 after wag because that is the year I first started exercising. 2009 was a life changing year for me.

About me:I am 44 years old and have 2 wonderful children (17 & 14) and an awesome hubby. I feel blessed to have this wonderful family. One thing about being a mom is that it is tough work. If we can share and support one another, then we can help save our sanity and have a laugh along the way. One thing that happened for me with having kids, going back for my degree (I am a nurse) and working full time evenings was an unhealthy eating habit and weight gain. What really made me wake up was a photo that we took on holidays as a family. I was at my heaviest ever! I was up to 193 lbs and wearing a size 18-20. I hated what I looked like, a very sad, unhappy person who lost “herself” somewhere along the way while focusing on work, school, kids and everything else. I don’t have too many photos of myself at this time because I was so embarrassed. This was not what I wanted to look like. It was finally time to put myself first!! A friend of mine bought and had wonderful results with Slim in 6. That is what got me interested in Beachbody and eventually becoming and Independent Beachbody Coach . I started out with Great Body Guaranteed and was able to slowly do that workout and build up some stamina. I have done many more workouts since then. I have done Slim in 6, Slim Series, Power Half Hour, Turbo Jam, Rocking Body, P90X, Brazil Butt Lift, Insanity, Chalean Extreme, RevAbs, TurboFire and Asylum Volume 1. I am looking to start Body Beast next. I have lost over 35 lbs and have managed to keep it off. Hard work really does pay off! I decided, committed and succeeded! Now that I have got this far, I am aiming for some new goals. My first goal is to be in the best shape of my life, reach 150 lbs as a new weight goal and size 8-10 as a new size goal. I know I can do this. I no longer shy away from the camera and I am so proud of all the hard work I have done to get this far.
